The provision has been designed to encourage young people to see the benefits of education, when tied into activities that will challenge their ideas of traditional learning. This will provide a high level of both challenge and support that aims to ensure pupils become responsible for their own choices and behaviours whilst ensuring that academic success is paramount.
Our aim is to work in collaboration with local schools and businesses and FE providers to ensure we prepare the young people of Kirklees for “real life”. In order to do this then a collaborative approach is vital. With this we can then utilise all stakeholders’ strengths and ensure it is a cost effective and sustainable model of support.
The secondary element to this would be to provide capacity to support 6th Day Cover for excluded pupils.
This would be in a separate area to the AP as it would be expected that the students would have a different need and hopefully rapid return to mainstream provision.
